Dress by MISS PATINA.

What is the most interesting or obscure object you’ve found?
When I was about 12, I was on holiday in Wales and I took myself for walk along the beach. I found a rock that looked very alien. It was transparent yet multicoloured and looked solid in texture. I put my hands on it and my fingers nearly went though it- turns out it was a jelly fish. It was absolutely massive twice the size of my head. I was lucky not to be stung.

When did you accurately predict something?
Trump being elected as President. I had the worst feeling in my stomach. I still cried when the news was confirmed though.

What is something you realised is no longer worth your time or energy?
People who make you feel like you are hard to love.

What non-entertainment related industry interests you the most?
Neuropsychology – I’m fascinated by brain injuries and how they affect the personality. People can change so drastically and behaviors can be modified forever.

Is there a particular style or school of art within writing, performing, film-making, painting e.t.c that you consider a favourite?
I’m huge fan of the works of John Steinbeck. He occasionally used a documentary style of writing which gave his work an incredible authenticity and intensity that stays with you long after you have finished his books.

What is the most difficult part of your lifestyle/ career to explain those who are unfamiliar with it?
The waiting. Waiting for the next audition or next offer. Your’re often walking a tight rope of hope and faith in your talent and it’s very easy to fall off it into fear.

If you could select any musician to do a soundtrack or score for any director’s next film, who would you pick in each case?
Billy Joel is a hero of mine. So I would choose him to soundtrack a classic American film like Breakfast at Tiffany’s.

You’ll soon be appearing in Innocent — the story of someone who has been wrongfully accused. Oftentimes society struggles to dissociate ideas from certain things or people, even those that may be disproven. In that same vein, what is something you perhaps unfairly or irrationally associate with something else because of a single incident or occurrence?
Hospitals. I nearly died of sepsis and organ failure in 2014 and I really struggle entering hospitals now as I have terrible flashbacks. Even if its visiting someone for a positive reason, for example a birth, I really have to get myself together before I go.

Hannah Britland can be seen in Innocent starting May 14 on ITV (UK).
